It is with great pleasure to inform you that our managing partner, Khun Chavalit Uttasart, and our senior partner, Khun Vira Kammee, are once again in the spotlight. This time, it is through an interview they have taken part in regarding their leadership capacity for FDI Spotlight, in partnership with Newsweek magazine.
The interview is in connection with creating a report on the Thai legal sector, covering issues such as corporate law and general legal approaches, for the Asean Economic Community (“AEC”). The report aims to demonstrate the legal framework in place to ensure a sustainable, conducive and transparent business climate in Thailand. In order to augment this chapter on Thailand's legal sector, our partners were invited to take part in said interview.
The interview covers various topics of discussion, including the trends in Thailand’s legal sector, i.e. how SCL Law Group differentiates itself from other law firms in Thailand; Thailand’s legal sector in comparison to the rest of the world; the education and human capital development within the legal sector; is the legal framework in Thailand in place to ensure a sustainable, conducive and transparent business climate in Thailand?; what challenges and opportunities does the AEC pose for the Thai legal sector?; and developments in land and property development in Thailand, and its impact on the AEC.
These issues are significantly important issues, which have been discussed by various authorities since the beginning of this year, and it is a great honour that our partners were given the opportunity to express their views on these issues. It should also be noted that our partners were invited for this interview based on their experience and reputation in the industry.
Other contributors to this report are some very prominent personnel from Thailand’s Ministries; the tourism sector including MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions; which is part of the tourism sector); digital economy companies; waste management companies; healthcare and pharmaceutical corporations; several publishers; and many corporations from the private sector, such as energy corporations; finance and manufacturing; property and infrastructure; and transport companies, to name just a few. This only goes to show the potential impact this report will have on readers. This report will be distributed online via www.newsweek.com, which has a readership of over 15 million.
This is indeed a great way to give SCL Law Group’s view and perspective on the general legal aspects of Thailand as well as the AEC to the community at large, and we are very proud that two of our most experienced partners are being featured in this extremely important report.
We as a group should be very proud of this achievement.
Well done to our partners and SCL Law Group!
